Submerged Arc Furnace Installation
The installation of the electric furnace can formulate the installation procedure according to the actual situation on site. The installation sequence described here is for reference only:
The installation of electric furnace structural components is from bottom to top, and the installation of electrode system components is from top to bottom.
Installation of electric furnace structural components:
Electric furnace bottom I-beam, furnace body rotation system, furnace shell and taphole, low fume hood, flue, fume exhaust in front of the furnace, and feeding system.
Installation of Electrode System Components:
Electrode sealing device, electrode lifting device, electrode pressing device, electrode holder. Then there is the installation of short net, water cooling system and burn through device. Finally, the installation and piping of the hydraulic system. The part below the platform of the feeding system should be carried out after the short net is installed.
Submerged Arc Furnace Commissioning
After the installation of each part of the electric furnace equipment is completed, no-load debugging should be carried out, and at the same time, each part should be adjusted so that the electric furnace equipment can meet the requirements of design and use.
The contents of load test run and adjustment include:
The pressure ring hugs the electrode tightly through the copper tile, the release of the force ring and the decompression release the electrode;
Hold the brake tightly around the electrode;
Pressure release of electrodes: lifting of electrodes;
Opening and closing of the flue cap;
Water flow and pressure test of water cooling system;
The opening and closing action of the gate valve of the feeding system;
All the actions of the hydraulic system are required to achieve smooth movement, no jamming, and no abnormal reaction, and the non-powered components are also required to meet the above requirements.
Each action requires no less than 5 times. All bidirectional action equipment must be tested in both directions during the test run, and the direction of the one-way action equipment test run must be consistent with the working direction during installation.
Submerged Arc Furnaces Maintenance & Examination:
For the fume hood and flue, it is necessary to regularly check whether the lining refractory mud is damaged;
There must be no accumulated smoke and dust on the fume hood;
Regularly check the entire electrical insulation system of the fume hood and flue, keep no smoke and dust deposits on the insulation point, and regularly blow and clean it with compressed air;
Replace damaged insulating parts at each component repair;
Regularly clean the insulating parts of the electrode system with compressed air;
Frequently check the fasteners and hanging joints of the short net;
Frequently check whether the transmission parts are hot, whether the fasteners are loose, whether the structural parts are deformed and the welds are cracked;
Frequently check whether the oil level of the hydraulic station is normal, whether the oil temperature is normal, whether the oil pump is hot, and whether there is leakage in the hydraulic cylinder;
Frequently check whether the outer skin of the water-cooled cable and water hose is damaged, and whether the return water temperature of the cooling water is normal.
Maintain
Maintenance of the taphole:
Due to the large temperature changes and the erosion of molten iron here in intermittent tapping, the taphole needs frequent maintenance and repairs.
Taphole Replacement:
Remove the sundries and cut off the old taphole, and install the new taphole.
Adjustment and maintenance of the sealing sleeve:
The function of the sealing sleeve is to protect the components in the lower section of each electrode column from the heat of the electric furnace flue gas and the heat radiation of the electric furnaces, and it needs to be replaced in time.
Replacement of copper tiles:
Pressure test should be done after installation.
Maintenance of conductive tubes and water-cooled cables:
There is a snap ring at the connection between the water-cooled cable and the conductive pipe, so special attention should be paid during installation and maintenance.
Maintenance of short hoods:
The maintenance of the low smoke hood is mainly to maintain and overhaul the water-passing components to prevent water leakage and smoke leakage. Flue maintenance is also to prevent water leakage in the lower water-cooling section and leakage of flue gas in all pipe sections.
