Submerged Arc Furnace For Ferro Alloy Production
Ferroalloy Submerged Arc Furnace
Equipment use:
The submerged arc furnace is mainly used for reducing and smelting raw materials such as ore, carbonaceous reducing agent and solvent. It mainly produces ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochromium, ferrotungsten, silicon-manganese alloy, silicon-chromium alloy, industrial silicon, calcium carbide, high titanium slag and other ferroalloys, which are important industrial raw materials in the metallurgical industry and chemical raw materials such as calcium carbide.
Features:
The ferroalloy submerged arc furnace is lined with carbonaceous or magnesia refractory materials and uses self-cultivation electrodes.
The electrode is inserted into the charge for submerged arc operation, using the energy and current of the arc to pass through the charge, and generating energy due to the resistance of the charge to smelt metal.
The size of the submerged arc furnace is measured by the rated capacity of the special transformer dedicated to the submerged arc furnace. For example, the SAF with the rated capacity of the transformer of 25.5MV.A is called a 25.5MV.A ferrosilicon furnace when producing ferrosilicon; It is called 25.5MV.A calcium carbide furnace, and it is called 25.5MV.A pig iron smelting furnace when producing pig iron with pre-reduced charge.
The submerged arc furnace for ferro alloy production is determined by the form of the furnace body (circular or rectangular, the way of flue gas capture, whether the furnace body is rotating), the layout of the transformer and the short grid (primary voltage, single-phase transformer or three-phase transformer, plate short grid or Tubular short net, symmetrical arrangement), electrode column system (self-baking electrode or pre-baking electrode, contact method of copper tile or conductive element and electrode, electrode lifting, pressing and releasing form), degree of automation control, furnace release method and its casting form, which can basically reflect the basic equipment level of the submerged arc furnace.
In the 1960s and 1970s, China built a number of large-scale ferroalloy electric furnaces, and with the development of large-scale, closed mechanization and automation of ferroalloy electric furnaces in the world.
From the mid-1980s to the early 1990s, in addition to a batch of new 6.3-16.5MVA semi-enclosed and fully-enclosed electric furnaces, large-scale modern electric furnaces of 25-50 MVA with the world's advanced technology and equipment level were also built.
Most of the large and medium-sized ferroalloy electric furnaces for smelting high-carbon ferromanganese, manganese-silicon alloys and high-carbon ferrochromium should use fully enclosed electric furnaces and set up dry gas recovery devices. The recovered gas (CO 60% 80%, calorific value 8 10 I (J/m. standard state, gas production 900 1 200 m3/t standard state) is used for drying or preheating pre-reduced ore.
Conditional factories can also use recycled gas to generate electricity to realize the comprehensive utilization of secondary energy.
The submerged arc furnace for ferro alloy production is developing in the direction of large-scale, automatic, closed, environmental protection and energy saving.
