How is billet made ?

contimuous casting machine

A billet is a product obtained by casting molten steel made in a steelmaking furnace.

Steel billets can be mainly divided into two types from the manufacturing process:

die casting billets and continuous casting billets. Now the most commonly used is the continuous casting billet of the continuous casting machine.

Steel billets can be divided into slabs and billets in terms of shape. The ratio of the section width and height of the slab is relatively large, which is mainly used for rolling plates;

Material:

The square billets and rectangular billets produced by the CCM are mainly represented by ordinary carbon steel, low-carbon and low-silicon cold-rolled material, high-quality carbon structural steel, low-alloy high-strength steel, and special steel grades.

Three Process Methods For Producing Billets:

1: Through the continuous casting equipment of the steelmaking system, the molten steel is directly cast into the billet;

2. Semi-finished steel products processed by the rolling equipment of the steel rolling system for the steel ingots or continuous casting billets produced by the steelmaking system;

Three: Semi-finished products processed by forging equipment for the ingots produced by the steelmaking system.

The Specific Process:

The raw materials put into the blast furnace are extracted and iron is extracted;

The coke oven is dry distillation; the cast iron is further converted into steel by turning it; it is smelted into molten steel in the electric arc furnace for decarburization;

The molten molten steel obtained by smelting is poured into the corresponding flow, shape and size In the continuous casting machine, the required steel billets are finally forged through continuous casting water cooling.
