Safety Operating Regulations for Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking Workers
1. Put all kinds of materials and tools in front of the electric furnace to the designated place.
2. Before the electric furnace is powered on, check the machinery, electrical appliances, water cooling, hydraulic (or pneumatic), and dust removal devices to make them comply with safety regulations.
3. When there is water in the tapping pit and the slag tapping pit in front of the furnace, the bottom of the furnace is too deep, and the furnace wall is damaged beyond the regulations, no electricity is allowed for steelmaking.
4. The charge must be inspected by a dedicated person. It's strictly forbidden to put explosives, airtight containers, and water, snow, or furnace charge with water to prevent an explosion.
5. When the furnace is shut down for more than 24 hours, check the furnace condition. If it is found that the furnace is wet or there is water, try to bake it and dry it before charging it for smelting.
6. When a second charge is required, the furnace door must be raised and secured to prevent the molten steel from running out. When the charge is higher than the furnace shell and needs to be pressed by a crane, a special person must be instructed and follow the safety operation regulations of the hooker.
7. Before oxygen blowing:
①Check the valve, pressure gauge, oxygen tube (band),
②The clamp head must be properly clamped.
8. When blowing oxygen:
①A dedicated person should take care of the valve] and the instrument, and cooperate well with each other.
②It is strictly forbidden to put your hands on the clip during operation to prevent backfire and hurt people.
③The oxygen pressure should be maintained at 0.6~0.8 MPa, Do not exceed 1.2 MPa when blowing oxygen to melt the alloy.
9. When adding ore or blowing oxygen to oxidize, it should not be too violent or too hasty to prevent the big boiling steel from injuring people. During automatic slag flow, it is strictly forbidden to use wet materials to cover the pressure to prevent explosion.
10. When smashing, mixing, and slagging, horizontal bars must be added to the door sill of the furnace and grounded to prevent electric shock.
11. Sample spoons, sample molds, dial samples, etc. should always be kept dry, and the remaining molten steel should be poured in a dry place to prevent the steel from hurting people.
12. It's strictly forbidden to a power outage with load, and also forbid two-phase power transmission. When power is on, no one is allowed to operate on the stovetop. When connecting and discharging the electrodes, you must contact the distributor, cut off the power first, and then operate. The operator is strictly forbidden to stand on the furnace cover.
13. When changing electrodes, cut off the power supply first. When energizing, check whether the voltage meets the requirements. After energizing, the current must not exceed the specified value.
14. The transformer should be inspected regularly during smelting. If the temperature rises above the specified value, take immediate measures.
15. When adding powder and bulk materials during the reduction period, feed them sideways to prevent people from being injured by fire.
16. When tapping the steel opening, stand on both sides of the tipping trough, not on the trough. After the tap hole is opened, no iron pipe can be used to detect slag.
17. Do not wear gloves when hammering. When hitting horizontally, the person holding the crowbar should be opposite to the person hitting the hammer, and when hitting upright, it should be on the side.
18. Pay attention to the limit when turning over the furnace, and repair it in time if the limit is not working properly. It is strictly forbidden to overstep the limit to turn the furnace over.
19. When the cover of the electric furnace is rotating, contact the back of the furnace well, and do not turn forward. Special personnel shall be instructed when the electric furnace slag basin is hoisted.
20. Objects are not allowed to be stored on the furnace roof and the furnace roof support and objects are not allowed to be thrown up and down when working on the furnace roof support.
21. When using a water-cooled furnace wall, the charge load should be as accurate as possible. If too much-molten steel is found after melting, it should be put into proper place before smelting. It is strictly forbidden to pad the blast furnace.
22. When tapping, first cut off the power to raise the electrode, and check whether the tapping port is unblocked. Turn the furnace slowly when the tapping pit is wet, and don't turn the molten steel out of it.
23. Before charging, it is found that there is unsolidified residual molten steel in the furnace, which should be covered with lime to prevent molten steel from splashing and hurting people during charging.
24. When breaking the steel sample, check whether the hammerhead is firm. No people are allowed to stand around to avoid the steel sample flying up and hurting people.
25. When using pneumatic sample delivery, signal to the laboratory first, and it is not allowed to open the gas valve if the small door is not closed. When the laboratory returns to the signal, stop the wind and close the small door immediately.
26. When using a water-cooled furnace cover, the charge should not touch the furnace cover to prevent short-circuit and leak the furnace cover. When the furnace cover leaks, it should be replaced or welded in time. Leaking smelting is strictly prohibited.
27. During smelting, if water leakage is found in the cold water part, the leaking part should be found in time and measures should be taken to strictly prohibit turning over the furnace at will.
The above are the precautions issued by us as an electric arc furnace manufacturer. We will be extremely honored for any guidance and supplements from you!
